Redesigning an existing website

Often the problem is not the absence of a website: the one you have loads slowly, falls apart on a phone, and changing a single sentence means messaging someone every time. I look at what you already have and tell you plainly what is worth keeping and what needs rewriting. Sometimes the design stays and the code underneath changes; sometimes the other way round. There is no point tearing down what already works.

How it works
  1. 01

    Audit

I go through the current site: what works, what does not, and which pages actually bring traffic from Google.

  2. 02

    Plan

We agree what is kept and what is rewritten. This is where the price becomes exact.

  3. 03

    Rebuild

Design and code. Existing content is migrated and URLs are preserved wherever possible.

  4. 04

    Switchover

The new site goes live, old URLs are redirected, and rankings are watched for the first few weeks.

Frequently asked questions

Will a redesign cost me my Google rankings?
The risk exists only when URLs change without redirects — which is, unfortunately, the most common mistake. I redirect every old address to its new one and watch Search Console for the first weeks after the switch. Done properly, a redesign does not lose rankings; because speed and mobile behaviour improve, it usually strengthens them.
My site is on WordPress — can you keep it?
Honest answer: sometimes yes, sometimes no. If the site is simple and the problem is only the design, staying on WordPress and redesigning is the cheaper route. But if it depends on dozens of plugins, breaks with every update and loads slowly, rewriting it pays off over time. The audit tells you which case you are in.
